The mission of the Alcohol & Drug Abuse Council for the Concho Valley is to serve the community through education, prevention, intervention and treatment.
Mission: Angelo State University, a member of the Texas Tech University System, delivers undergraduate and graduate programs in the liberal arts, sciences, and professional diciplines. The mission of Samaritan Counseling Center is to provide faith-integrated professional counseling and family-oriented programs to the citizens of the Concho Valley.
The Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) is the state government agency charged with overseeing and providing workforce development services to employers and job seekers of Texas. For employers, TWC offers recruiting, retention, training and retraining, and outplacement services as well as valuable information on labor law and labor market statistics. For job seekers, TWC offers career development information, job search resources, training programs, and, as appropriate, unemployment benefits. While targeted populations receive intensive assistance to overcome barriers to employment all Texans can benefit from the services offered by TWC and our network of workforce partners.

The Concho Valley Rape Crisis Center, Inc. (CVRCC) is a non-profit corporation committed to serving the 14 counties of the Concho Valley (Coke, Concho, Crockett, Irion, Kimble, Mason, McCulloch, Menard, Reagan, Runnels, Schleicher, Sterling, Sutton and Tom Green counties). CVRCC aims to assist persons affected by sexual assault, to educate the Concho Valley about sexual assault, and to end sexual violence in the Concho Valley and elsewhere.

NewBridge Family Shelter is a program of ICD Bridges, Inc., a non-profit organization. Our trained and qualified professionals provide quality services and support to individuals impacted by domestic violence. Our primary objective is to help individuals gain a healthy and self-sufficient life that is free of physical, sexual, and/or emotional abuse. We also strive to encourage positive mental health and emotional healing, provide guidance and advocacy, and promote education for the prevention of domestic violence. Our services reach children, survivors of domestic violence, and the perpetrators of abuse. Most of our services are offered at no cost.

The Texas Veterans Leadership Program (TVLP) is a Texas Workforce Commission (TWC) resource and referral network that serves to connect returning veterans of Iraq and Afghanistan with the resources and tools they need to lead productive lives and enjoy the full benefits of the society they have willingly served. Veterans Resource and Referral Specialists (VRRSs) will work to find ancillary services in local communities, some of which will be community service.

I founded the Shelby Lyn Allen Alcohol Poisoning Education Fund after my 17 year-old daughter, an 11th grade student at Foothill High School in Palo Cedro, California died of acute alcohol poisoning. On the first night of Christmas break 2008, my daughter and her friends began drinking at a nearby home. It is unclear what happened, but we are told Shelby became violently ill and was semi-conscious when her friends left her propped up over the toilet. When she was discovered the next morning, she could not be revived.
