The Most Reverend Micheal D. Pfeifer, O.M.I. is currently Bishop of the San Angelo Catholic Diocese.
Bishop Pfeifer began his theological studies in 1958 at the DeMazenod Seminary (Oblate School of Theology) in San Antonio, TX.
Bishop Pfeifer has spent many years in Mexico. First, as prinicipal of the Colegio Vista Hermosa Elementary School and as Treasurer of the La Purisma Seminary and Colegio Vista Hermosa Elementary & High School in Mexico City. Also in Mexico, Bishop Pfeifer began as Mission Procurator for the Oblates of Mary Immaculate, moving to Director, and Superior. Eventially, Bishop Pfeifer moved to Provincial Superior in the Souther US Province and Mexico in San Antonio, TX.
Along with founding CV CARES, Bishop Pfeifer has founded the following groups/organizations:
- Task Force for Racial Tensions with Mayor JW Lown
- Ambassadors of Peace in San Angelo - Presently Serves as Chairperson
- The Homeless Coalition of San Angelo
- The Drug Committee - Midland, TX
Bishop Pfeifer is involved with many other committees and groups.
